Rye Barcott

Rye Barcott is an accomplished social entrepreneur, author, and investor, currently serving as the co-founder and CEO of With Honor, a cross-partisan nonprofit organization aimed at reducing political polarization in the U.S. Congress by supporting principled veteran leadership. With Honor focuses on electing and endorsing a bipartisan coalition of post-9/11 veterans committed to putting principles above politics.123
Barcott's career spans military service, social entrepreneurship, and clean energy investment. He served as a U.S. Marine Corps officer in Iraq, Bosnia, and the Horn of Africa. While still an undergraduate at the University of North Carolina (UNC), he co-founded Carolina for Kibera (CFK), a nonprofit organization addressing poverty and public health issues in Kibera, Nairobi. CFK has since become an internationally recognized initiative affiliated with UNC.123
After his military service, Barcott pursued advanced education, earning an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School. He co-founded Double Time Capital, a clean energy investment firm that has played a significant role in advancing solar energy projects in North Carolina.23 Additionally, he has held advisory roles at Duke Energy and served on several boards, including the U.S. Institute for Peace and the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation.23
Barcott is also the author of It Happened on the Way to War, a memoir that explores his experiences in both military service and social entrepreneurship. His work has earned him recognition as a thought leader, including being named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.23 He resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife and children.1
