Ryan Sit is an experienced storyteller, former award-winning reporter, and currently a Senior Account Executive for VSC Consulting. He has a Master's degree in Communication Management from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the City University of New York-Brooklyn College. Ryan has dedicated his career to uncovering the untold stories and giving a voice to the underrepresented. With his exceptional abilities as a journalist, he has covered various subjects such as national politics, gun violence, criminal justice, and government affairs.
Ryan was the former Communications Director for New York City Council Member Francisco Moya and a staff writer for the New York Daily News, where he covered law enforcement, criminal justice, and government accountability. His original reporting exposed widespread malfeasance within the Administration for Children’s Services, resulting in the suspension and demotion of top officials at the agency. He also uncovered critical details in the fatal police shooting of Akai Gurley, which later led to the suspension, charging, and conviction of NYPD Officer Peter Liang of second-degree manslaughter.
Ryan has won several awards for his reporting, including the in-depth reporting award from the City University of New York-Brooklyn for an enterprise piece on Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s micro-unit apartments initiative. His work has also appeared on the nationally syndicated television news program Inside Edition, where he worked as a Story Coordinator.
