Ryan Naughton

Ryan Naughton is a Co-Executive Director at the Center for New Data, bringing a wealth of knowledge as an Economist, Data Engineer, and Pythonista. He describes himself as a Nerd, Futurist, and proud alumnus of the University of Chicago.

Ryan's educational background includes an A.B. in Economics with a Minor in Classical Studies from the University of Chicago. He also pursued Master's coursework in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology, showcasing his diverse academic interests.

Throughout his career, Ryan has held key roles in various organizations, demonstrating his multifaceted expertise. He co-founded and served as the Head of Strategic Partnerships at Exponential Markets. Ryan has also been involved in leadership positions at the Center for New Data, COVID Alliance, and Fair (acquired by Shift), where he contributed as a Director of Engineering, Director of Data Engineering, and Data Architect & Lead Data Engineer, respectively.

Ryan's professional journey includes roles as a Team Lead Data Engineer at Avant, as well as experience in software engineering and data science at companies like Curb Mobility and New Signature. His strategic acumen was honed during his tenure as a Strategy Consultant at Argo Navis Consulting, while his analytical skills were developed as a Junior Economist and Research Assistant at the Chicago Climate Exchange.

With a diverse skill set incorporating economics, data engineering, and strategic partnerships, Ryan Naughton has proven himself as a versatile professional with a strong foundation in both technical and business aspects of the industry.
