Ryan Mcgranaghan is a passionate individual with a deep interest in space, focusing on engineering and scientific aspects to drive progress in space capabilities and sciences through interdisciplinary research and big thinking.
Currently serving as the Principal Data Scientist at ASTRA LLC in Washington, DC, where he leads a new Data Science Working Group, Ryan completed his postdoctoral research at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and maintains collaborations with colleagues from JPL.
With a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering Sciences from the University of Colorado Boulder, Ryan's research interests encompass space physics, geospace sciences, astrodynamics, estimation/data assimilation, mission and spacecraft design, and satellite navigation.
His work delves into complex systems analysis, machine learning, and data science approaches within the realm of space research. Apart from his professional endeavors, Ryan hosts a podcast called Origins and has a keen interest in exploring the intersections of different disciplines and ideas.
