Ryan Keeling

Ryan Keeling is a Mountain Goon, Geography Nerd, and Drone Enthusiast hailing from Seattle, WA. His passion lies in seeking adventure in the great outdoors, be it trail running, backpacking, mountaineering, biking, or global travels with his partner.

With a background in physical geography and GIS, Ryan excels in deciphering spatial puzzles and harnessing the power of geospatial data for valuable insights.

Currently serving as the Manager of Technical Flight Operations (GIS) at DroneSeed, Ryan Keeling is an advocate for drones for good, part of a team striving to revolutionize reforestation efforts by utilizing drones for data collection, invasive species management, and tree planting.

Ryan is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he pursued a Master's Degree in Geography and Geographic Information Science, and the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where he obtained a B.S. in Environmental Science with minors in Environmental Studies and Geography, along with a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Certification.

His professional journey includes roles such as Graduate Research Assistant at US Army Corps of Engineers, Research Fellow at NOAA, and Sales Support Specialist at Recreational Equipment, Inc. Ryan has also contributed as a Thru Hiker at the Appalachian Trail and held various positions at University of Michigan-Dearborn, including GIS Lab Proctor, Research Assistant, and Sustainability Intern.
