Ryan Davies
Dr. Ryan J. Davies is an accomplished academic and finance professional with a strong educational background and extensive experience in academia and advisory roles.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics, specializing in Econometrics and Finance from Queen's University, where he also completed his M.A. Additionally, he pursued Graduate Studies in Economics at The University of Western Ontario and earned a B.A. with First Class Honours in Economics with Mathematics from St. Francis Xavier University.
Dr. Davies currently serves as a Professor of Finance at Babson College, where he has held various leadership positions, including Chair of the Finance Division and Faculty Director of several finance-related programs such as the Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments and Finance.
His diverse professional experience includes advisory roles such as Advisor To The Board at Artisan Industries Inc., Faculty Director at Siemens / FAU EMBA Custom Finance Course, and Affiliated Expert at ScottMadden, Inc. He has also contributed his expertise as a Business Advisor at Volos Portfolio Solutions, LLC.
Dr. Davies has an extensive international academic background, having been a Visiting Scholar at various prestigious institutions worldwide, including Université Paris Dauphine, University of New South Wales, University of the West Indies, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
His academic journey includes roles such as Associate Professor of Finance, Assistant Professor of Finance, and Instructor at Babson College, where he taught subjects related to finance and investments. He has also shared his knowledge as an Instructor at the HSE Executive MBA in Seoul, Korea, and the International Capital Market Association.
Prior to his current positions, Dr. Davies lectured in Finance at the ICMA Centre, University of Reading, and served as a Treasurer on the Executive Board of the Wellesley Community Children's Center.
