Director of Global Public Relations & Communications

After Roku’s acquisition of the Quibi catalog, Ryan joined its PR team to elevate the company’s brand, reputation, product and executives as leaders at the intersection of technology and entertainment. He was responsible for PR around Roku’s platform product including partnerships, crisis communications, executive and corporate communications, and content deals. He also built and led the PR and publicity team for The Roku Channel.

➔ Led all communications for The Roku Channel, one of the US’s leading ad-supported streaming services.
➔ Managed all celebrity talent relationships and led all consumer and entertainment media relations.
➔ Handled external partner relationships like Apple, TikTok, Google, YouTube and more.

As the first PR hire, Ryan wore many hats at the $1.75 billion entertainment tech startup. He ran consumer, product and international communications. He also led all publicity for original content, managing talent relations and external partnerships. Ryan drove Quibi’s positive show coverage leading to 12 Emmy nominations.

➔ Built and executed the year-long communications plan that generated Quibi’s initial buzz to drive

Ryan was hired to innovate Netflix's brand and consumer communications in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand with a focus on visual storytelling. His role expanded to identifying annual content storylines and scaling the publicity team's efforts across Netflix’s 175+ originals.

At the global PR agency, Ryan was a leader in the technology, brand & consumer group. Promoted twice, he became a sought-after executive and problem solver for top clients: Amazon Prime Video, Facebook Messenger, Adobe, CLIF Bar and more.

➔ Led the global launch of Amazon Prime Video to over 200 countries and territories building a global communications account structure from scratch across 17 countries. Oversaw account media relations, corporate messaging and publicity efforts around the globe.
➔ Ran Adobe’s real time social communications program which led directly to winning Adobe’s entire digital business in the US. Ryan also managed the technology and consumer communications initiatives for Adobe's AI product suite.
➔ Led in-house media relations at Facebook HQ in SF advising the Facebook Messenger executive team directly on consumer communications strategy, product communications, artificial intelligence, and external events/ initiatives like the F8 Developer Conference.

From statewide coat drives and city-wide recycle days, to charity fundraising events and LSU football awards programs. Ryan coordinated budgets, promotions, and all aspects of the largest family-owned stations’s special projects. His programs raised over $2M and won several statewide community and creative awards.
