Ryan Deckert is the President of Junior Achievement of Oregon & SW Washington, a role he assumed in November 2023. In this position, he is responsible for overseeing the organization's programs focused on work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy, which serve over 45,000 K-12 students annually in the region.1
Before joining Junior Achievement, Deckert had a notable career in public service and business. He served as a State Representative and then as the youngest State Senator in Oregon's history, where he chaired the Oregon Senate Finance & Revenue Committee. He led the Oregon Business Association from 2007 until July 2017 and has been involved with various boards, including those of the Oregon Zoo and Habitat for Humanity. His contributions to public service have earned him recognition as one of Portland Business Journal's "40 most influential Oregonians under 40" .13
Deckert holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon. He is committed to enhancing educational opportunities for young people through Junior Achievement's mission to provide practical skills in personal finance and entrepreneurship.12
