Russ Krenek is a highly qualified and driven Assistant Professor of Manufacturing Engineering at Georgia Southern University. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Industrial Engineering, a Master of Science - MS in Industrial Engineering with a concentration in Quality Engineering and Statistics, both from Clemson University, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Industrial Engineering and Applied Mathematics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Krenek's research interests lie at the intersection of deterministic/stochastic operations research and advanced probability/statistics, with the aim of improving processes and systems. Krenek has previously worked in a variety of roles, including as an independent researcher and consultant in the Experian Consumer Services Project, as part of the Greenville Health System Six Sigma Project, and as part of the UPS Automotive Engineering Design Project. Before beginning his academic career, he also spent time in the Georgia Institute of Technology Department of Mathematics and the Laboratory of Biomolecular Engineering and Nanomedicine.
