Rudy Zuidema

Rudy Zuidema is a highly experienced winemaker and consultant based in Napa Valley, California. He graduated from UC Davis in 1991 with a B.S. in Plant Science and Viticulture.1 With nearly 30 years of experience in the wine industry, Rudy has worked with numerous prestigious wineries and vineyards throughout Napa Valley.3

Rudy's career highlights include:

• Founding Zuidema Wine Co., a full-service consulting firm specializing in boutique wineries1
• Serving as winemaker for Shadybrook Estate, where he grew the brand from 75 cases to 6000 cases1
• Working as head winemaker at Robert Craig Winery at the age of 281
• Developing expertise in organic and biodynamic farming practices3
• Co-founding Flash Wine Technologies in 2012, offering innovative wine processing services14

Rudy is known for his gentle, non-manipulative approach to winemaking, focusing on creating wines that express their unique terroir and vintage characteristics.13 He works with vineyards in various Napa Valley AVAs, including Howell Mountain, Coombsville, Rutherford, and St. Helena.2

In addition to his consulting work, Rudy produces his own wine label, Zuidema Wine Co., which focuses on crafting small-batch wines, particularly Grenache from Rutherford.4
