Roy T.

Roy T. is the Chief of Industry Development, Technology & Innovation at Sport Singapore. In this role, he focuses on creating a robust sports business ecosystem that is innovative, resilient, and productive, positioning Singapore as a hub for the Asian sports and fitness industry. His responsibilities include fostering internationally competitive organizations, driving innovation, leveraging technology and data, and developing a skilled workforce.12

Before joining Sport Singapore in May 2022, Roy had a significant career at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), where he served as Executive Director for Financial Centre Development. He played a crucial role in establishing Singapore's FinTech ecosystem, growing the number of FinTech companies from fewer than 70 in 2014 to over 1,000 by 2017, and was instrumental in launching the Singapore FinTech Festival, which became the world's largest event of its kind.123

Roy holds a degree in Information Systems and Computer Science from the National University of Singapore and has certifications as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). His previous experience includes roles at Barclays, Arthur Andersen, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and IBM.12 Additionally, he is an avid adventurer and has completed numerous marathons and triathlons, holding certifications as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor.2
