Higher Education Policy Fellow  at uAspire

- Review the launch of Institutional Capacity–Building Cohort which was aimed to  increase the organizational and programmatic capacity of colleges and universities so that they can strengthen and build integrated and collaborative ecosystems. 
Assisted in research addressing basic needs insecurity among college students to work with colleges and universities. Identified and researched programs that establish relationships between academic institutions and community agencies. 
- Helped the Research Team develop new projects and initiatives aimed at resource and service delivery. 
- Prepared materials for the Research Collaborative, a program where the Hope Center trains early-career scholars to research basic needs insecurity. 
- Contribute content to Hope Center's blog, a task that is critically important to help college and university leaders understand what it is like to be contemporary college student.

Higher Education Research Intern (Summer)

- Create student awareness and access to SNAP benefits and increase the understanding of an accurate definition of non-tuition expenses. 
- Conduct interviews from campus on students who are facing homelessness. 
- Strengthen efforts within higher education systems that meet the basic needs of college students excluded from receiving CARES funding assistance.
-  Lobby and advocating for higher education bills AB396, AB543, and SB464.

Southern California College Access Network

Basic Needs Researcher 

-	Focused on advocacy skills with a team of 15 fellows to influence policymakers, educators, and legislators on higher education disparities. 
-	Researched solutions for state and federal delegation. 
-	Integrated personal experience, relevant data and viable solutions. 
-       Recommendations to policymakers, journalists, researchers, and advocates.
-	Created a panel a presentation at federal congressional briefing on indirect expenses.
-	Conducted critical follow-up communication with state and federal offices.

uAspire

Higher Education Policy Fellow 

-	Participated on issues affecting first-generation, low-income, and undocumented students.  
-       Focused on enforcement of the California Community College’s on bills AB705 and AB928 which were passed into law. 
-	Expanded the number of spots in college for California students.
-	Simplified the path to college and shined light on growing inequities by ethnicity and race.

Educational Advocate

-Assist with all twenty-three CSU’s with the Student Success Network and California Education Policy Fellowship Program. The CSU Network supports positive student-oriented changes on campuses by sharing applied research and creating structured spaces for professional development that center equity, evidence, and student  experiences. 
- Schedule meetings and conference calls and handling, generating accurate lists, database document merges, and executing mailings.
-	Order supplies and track equipment inventory, contract and purchase order invoices, travel advances and travel claims.
-	Assist in planning and coordinating policy and educational briefings and events.
-	Conduct, summarize, and disseminate research and analysis on the impacts of equity and education.

Education Insights Center (EdInsights)

Statewide Initiatives Program Assistant 

-	Assist students by assessing needs and developing a course of action. 
-	Organize financial aid events with students in collaboration with school and community partners. 
-	Develop and implement creative approaches to drive student engagement with emails. 
-	Guide students in academic counseling, financial aid consultation, and motivational guidance. 
-	Recruited and tracked students, promotion of services, and by telephone conferencing.
