The role of ‘Global brand and strategic partnerships Director’ is to work across businesses and sectors in aligning an overarching external message with the SDG’s and transform the way others approach this subject.

Global Brand & Strategic Partnerships Director

CREation addresses a prominent flaw in the property industry, a pronounced lack of communication between young property entrepreneurs and invaluable industry information. Fun, free and for all; at the core of the brand is diversity and inclusion. CREation bring together individuals from across all built environment specialisms – connecting apprentices, students, graduates - to ensure that everyone, no matter their background, has access to free educational and networking events. In January 2018, after 6 months developing the idea, seeking industry buy-in and building the business case, I launched CREation with my Co-Founder Harri John; welcoming 300 individuals from over 90 companies. Through hard work, drive, and determination we have quickly grown CREation to over 1,600 members UK wide, hosting over 30 events across 4 branches: London, Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham. In the past two years we have worked tirelessly, creating a marketing strategy, reaching out to companies for support, obtaining £40k+ ongoing annual sponsorship, building and diversifying the membership and setting up a committee structure designed to empower 30+ UK wide early career volunteers to take on leadership roles. CREation is now backed by industry leading companies: Cushman & Wakefield, Knight Frank, CBRE, TFL, DLA Piper, Eversheds Sutherland, HKS Inc., Lockton Insurance, Lambert Smith Hampton, Colliers International, M7 Real Estate and British Land. We have used CREation to give a voice to those just starting out. Through the competitions we gather opinions and through leadership from our members and generate insight. Most recently, our research ‘Engaging the Next Generation of Talent’ was showcased at MIPIM UK, forming the basis of a joint panel discussion with BPF around diversity and inclusion. We also negotiated an opportunity for 3 of their members to speak on the panel alongside BPF CEO Melanie Leach.

KEEN is a charity that is very close to my heart, bringing one to one fun to children with disabilities. I began volunteering here when I realised the value to my sister when I looked after my nephew who has been diagnosed with autism. I volunteer a minimum of once a month and often organise session plans and leading the session, as well as assisting on full weekend activity residentials providing 24hour care to children with a variety of disabilities. When I am not leading a session I am responsible for a child on a one to one basis, encouraging them to join in with the group activities and remaining patient and calm. As we care for a variety of children with different disabilities attention to detail of their profiles and specific care requirements is key.

YOO is the leading residential brand in the world, something that drew me to them and what ignited my passion for branding whilst leading me to deeply understand how communities were effectively built around people and for people.I was brought on as a Development manager by title, but my role encompassed much more. I was tasked to set up a new subsidiary within the YOO Worldwide Group company, create the business plan and develop a functioning small asset investment and development firm under his name. I was provided a cash facility that I was to manage to execute my task and as the cash facility increased due to profit, so did the business operations. My role grew as the CEO wanted to ensure that I was dynamic and understood many facets of the industry. I became responsible for leading on or taking part in ‘special projects’ and programmes not directly linked with the YOO Living business. For example, In, 2018 I lead on the curation of a pitch to a global tech platform for a new partnership product that would revolutionise the tourism and permanent residence environment. Furthermore, I lead an investment programme into Proptech solutions within the residential management and lettings space, which involved reviewing pitch materials, hosting meetings and advising on the best route forward. Finally, another key project I was involved in was the repositioning of the hospitality development, the Lakes by YOO, assessing the best options for development, undertaking hotel valuations and other strategic finance decisions.Prior to my departure I was still managing YOO Living with 5 active projects, and working closely with our Development Director on large scale Co-Living and BTR schemes and sitting as an advisor to the board for innovation and business development opportunities.During my time at YOO I undertook my APC which I sat just as I left the company and represented the company as an expert speaker on various panels in regard to BTR.

I started at Cushman and Wakefield following a successful internship with them during the summer of my second year, I was immediately offered a job and didn’t have to go through the usual graduate hiring process.I was selected by the restaurant and leisure partner to join their team as he was looking for a graduate with personality and someone who was dynamic, I spent 9 months in the team before my formal rotation to corporate real estate, global occupier services, where I spent 3 months before leaving Cushman & Wakefield.During my time in restaurants and leisure I was extremely fortunate that I was given a lot of autonomy and responsibility in comparison to other graduates, including being the lead on the letting of a coffee unit in the city, including management of negotiations on rent and fit out between landlord and tenant, as well as being the point of contact for a new brand from the USA looking for restaurant space in Central London. I regularly conducted viewings independently and on occasion met with our retained clients independently too.The team represented both landlord and tenant and therefore I was involved in the following:-	Sourcing sites for occupiers such as Burger King, Wahaca and Third space-	Assisting on letting strategy for Battersea power station, Kingston Bentall Centre, Circle square and Here East, sourcing tenants for the restaurant and leisure aspects-	Completing Gap and market analysis for across key UK marketsDuring my time at Cushman and Wakefield I took part in extra-curricular activities, I played on the Cushman and Wakefield netball team as well as organised and partook in a tough-mudder half, raising over 2K for Landaid. The team was made up of different seniority levels from graduate to partner.It was during my employment at Cushman & Wakefield that I co-founded CREation Property Network.

CityWest Homes manage all of Westminster Council's tenanted and leasehold properties. Within this role i was given a large amount of responsibility. I was assigned my own 'patch' to ensure that all of the leaseholders were paying the appropriate costs to the council, such as service charge and major works. I was in charge of legally referring leaseholders who were not paying as well as ensuring that any applications made for alterations, or purchases from the council were dealt with correctly and all of the correct information received before sending them through to our in house surveyor. The job entailed a lot of call outs, phone conversations and negotiations with clients as well as ensuring all of the systems and software were up to date whenever transactions or payments were made.

Cushman & Wakefield is the world's largest privately-held commercial real estate services firm and a leading global property consultant.After completing the formal selection process I was chosen to undertake a four week commercial property internship with Cushman & Wakefield. Working within the Valuation and Advisory: Retail department.Throughout my time at C&W I was exposed to the process of valuing commercial properties through assisting surveyors with various tasks. This included; finding comparables, creating tenancy schedules, inputting information into the official valuation reports and more.

Oakville is an independent Estate agency based in East London. Within the company there are few employees and therefore  I often perform tasks that do not fall within the job description.During my time here I completely re-constructed the lettings system and how the management of the tenanted properties is organised and executed.Basic daily tasks include the co-ordination of inspections and assisting in the management of over 90 residential properties. This involved; handling and updating work orders, effective communication with landlords and tenants and solving any disputes. In addition to the letting department responsibilities I also contributed to the appraisal of developments that the company had been commissioned to market. This become quite a demanding role due to the high levels of developments being received.It then has to be marketed to the correct purchasers. This often involved liaising and negotiating with high profile clients and professional developers and investors.
