Ronald Kelly

Ronald Kelly is a registered professional engineer with an MBA, specializing in the energy sector. With over 15 years of experience as an independent power engineer and 20 years as a project developer for various energy projects, Ronald possesses a deep understanding of natural gas, solar, energy storage, and biomass energy projects.

His expertise includes market knowledge of the three independent US power grids, regulatory oversight within state borders, and interstate FERC oversight. Ronald has worked extensively with regulated utilities, unregulated independent power producers, and municipal power companies, focusing particularly on solar and battery storage markets and technology.

Currently, Ronald serves as an independent consultant, offering guidance to clients on developing utility scale solar projects ranging from 1 to 25+ MW, along with the corresponding battery storage potential (1 to 10+ MW/40+ MWh) across various US markets. He is adept at working on projects at greenfield or brownfield sites.

Ronald Kelly pursued his education with an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Babson College and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Throughout his career, he has held key positions at organizations like Advanced Solar Products, Brightfields Development LLC, Calpine, and thermo electron corp, gaining a wealth of experience in project development, business consultancy, business development, and control systems engineering.
