Ronald Halim

Ronald A. Halim is a highly experienced transport and logistics specialist with over a decade of expertise in quantitative policy analysis across various sectors including private, public, academic, and intergovernmental organizations.

Currently, Ronald is the founder and principal transport economist at Equitable Maritime Consulting, an independent advisory company focusing on transport economics.

Ronald's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Modeling Global Freight Transport from Delft University of Technology, where he also obtained his MSc in Systems Engineering, Policy Analysis, and Management.

His specialization lies in transport demand forecasting, multi-modal network design, predictive analytics, optimization models, data visualization, and data science techniques, with a proficiency in using open-source tools like Java, Python, and R for over 9 years.

He has authored key reports such as the ITF/OECD report on decarbonizing maritime transport, submitted to IMO's 74th MEPC and the World Bank report on economic impacts of greenhouse gas mitigation policies on shipping.

Previously, Ronald has held roles like Transport Economist at The World Bank, Transport Modeler/Analyst at ITF, and National Transport Consultant at Asian Development Bank. He has also been involved in research and academic pursuits during his tenure at various prestigious institutions and organizations.
