The Payment Choice Alliance team will work tirelessly to safeguard Payment Choice for everyone in the UK. How to pay must be at the discretion of every member of the UK public, not imposed on them.

The CSA will be supporting the voice of the consumer to emphasise the importance of payment choice for the UK population and the inclusion of cash as a choice in all sectors & businesses.

Euronet founded the UK independent ATM sector in 1998. I joined the company shortly afterwards and became MD in 2000. In 2003,I lead a Management Buyout and coined the name Bank Machine for our new company.
Unfortunately, despite two very good years, Private Equity investors blocked the management team taking the company public and in 2005 we were taken over by another Private Equity owned company, Cardtronics Inc.
I am proud of the achievements of the wonderful Bank Machine Team. We achieved double digit revenue growth every year 2005-2012 and in the process become the dominant independent member of LINK.
Our defining quality was our devotion to the search for excellence in terms of service delivery. In a country where service standards are generally dreadful, we set standards that others can only aspire to (or expire trying to reach).
If I had known in 1998 just how difficult running an ATM operator was going to be, I would probably never have started! However, I have come to understand just how important-in fact vital-it is for the Public to have convenient access to cash. Cash; choice; freedom; and independence, are four words inextricably linked and must always remain so. As I take up new challenges, my support for cash as a payment method will never waiver.
