In the realm of Smart Grid Modernization, Rod has developed VPPs and microgrids totaling 120MW of generation while connecting with various customer DER resources like DG, PV, ESS storage, biogas, and turbines across smart buildings, hospitals, data centers, military facilities, and manufacturing sites.
His noteworthy projects include overseeing the $178M Battle BPA Smart Grid demo project, where a VPP/microgrid was implemented, adding 5MW (1.25Mwh) of battery storage, along with building management systems and CHP loads.
