Product Manager at Microsoft Tech for Social Impact, a lean 5 PM team building products for 300k nonprofit customers.
1) Owned the full stack overhaul of a critical gift entry feature in our nonprofit CRM, which is a “must-show” in every sales demo. Led market research and achieved feature buy-in from leadership, sales, partners, and customers. Worked with designer and engineers to scope and build. Through careful prioritization, task parallelization, and by guiding my team through a clear release roadmap, I achieved the fastest public release in team history. Feature increased speed of gift entry by 5x, and reduced CRM implementation times by 12%.
2) Featured speaker at 2024 Nonprofit Marketing Summit. Demoed Copilot nonprofit marketing use cases to 1600+ attendees.
3) Leading net new strategy for building “nonprofitized” Copilot extensions within M365 (Teams, Office, Outlook)

PM intern at Microsoft Tech for Social Impact. Launched an internal app that operationalized the receiving and prioritizing of feature requests from sales and partners. In 12 weeks, I interviewed stakeholders, designed, implemented, iterated, onboarded, and it was being used across the org.

Designed a feature that makes it easier for Alexa Developers to give site feedback. Collaborated with the UX team to ensure customer needs were accounted for. Used Java, SQL, and Javascript to implement the feature.
Feature is now live for ~1 M Alexa Developers. Project successfully increased site feedback volume by over 30%.

Led a deep learning NLP project to flag & classify social determinants of health from unstructured clinical notes. Fine tuned and benchmarked performance of various LLMs on task.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

Natural Language Processing / LLM Researcher

1) Tasked to identify what was driving up costs in clients’ Managed Medicaid population.
2) Used Python, SQL, and Tableau to analyze data from 200 M+ medical claims. Discovered higher-than-benchmark diabetic medication costs due to systematic overprescription of 4 branded drugs.
3) Generated easy-to-interpret visuals, and compiled slide deck with recommendations for the client’s Chief Medical Officer.

COPE Health Solutions

Data Analyst and Consultant Intern

1) Led data analytics for CHOP’s Academic Entrepreneurship textbook; built an automated data collection and visualization pipeline to parse reader behavior; periodically presented to the Director of CChiPS to help shape marketing strategy.
2) Worked in a 7-person team to measure the efficacy of Ohio’s driver training program using data from 200k+ drivers. Iteratively developed our data cleaning & analysis methodology based on feedback from our team’s domain experts. Discovered that those without driver training crashed 54% more in the first 2 months post-licensure, even when controlling for sociodemographic variables. Findings suggest that Ohio’s driver training program is highly effective and could be expanded to include more people. Presented key insights to the Director of CChIPS at CHOP.

CChIPs Data Analyst

Working with Dr. Ryan Urbanowicz to test and iterate new Learning Classifier Systems (LCSs), a type of algorithm suited for analyzing complex data (e.g., genomic datasets). Funded by Penn’s PURM and GfFMUR grants.
1) Led the development of 3 open-source Python packages: scikit-eLCS, scikit-XCS, and scikit-ExSTraCS. These packages are the first “plug-and-play” LCS algorithms, making it easy for other researchers to add them to their own analysis projects. Published paper on scikit-eLCS and invited to lead a workshop about the package at GECCO 2020, the premier research conference in the field of evolutionary computation: https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3377929.3398097
2) Implemented a parallelized ML pipeline (data cleaning/imputation/scaling, feature selection, training, evaluation) that rapidly compared the performance of 15+ ML algorithms against 1000+ simulated datasets on a compute cluster.
3) Led major update to skrebate, a popular open-source feature selection package: introduced 3 novel selection methods 
4) Designed and implemented LCS-DIVE, a first-of-its-kind visualization methodology that can detect and characterize complex patterns of association (interactions, genetic heterogeneity, feature importance) in genomic datasets.

Unbounded Research in Biomedical Systems (URBS) Lab

Machine Learning Researcher and Developer

1) PillBot’s handheld, restrictive pill dispenser prevents substance abuse at home. Founded as a team of 2. Later led recruitment and coordination of electrical, backend-software, and mechanical leads to develop our prototype.
2) Prepped and led interviews with pain clinicians, pharmacists, insurance executives, and patients to understand needs. Found a niche in the acute pain market, where physicians can use PillBot to help post-operative patients taper off opioids.
3) Used market research to compile and co-present winning fundraising/sales pitches to investors on campus, raising ~$40k.
