Robert Wardrop

Robert Wardrop is an economic sociologist and Management Practice Professor of Finance at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.13 He is the Director and Co-founder of the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF), which he established in January 2015.12
Wardrop's research focuses on alternative finance, exploring how channels and instruments of finance emerge outside the traditional financial system and their impact on regulators and firms. He teaches graduate-level courses, including the popular New Venture Finance elective in the MBA program.13
Prior to his academic career, Wardrop had an extensive background in professional investing, working internationally for a large US-based family office investment company.2 He entered academia in 2010 and completed his Ph.D. in Economic Sociology from the University of Cambridge.
In addition to his academic roles, Wardrop is the founder and CEO of RegGenome, a commercial spin-out from a research project at Cambridge Judge Business School.2 He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Cambridge Centre for Data Driven Discovery and holds advisory and board positions with various organizations.2
Wardrop's educational background includes degrees from Queen's University, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and the London School of Economics, in addition to his Ph.D. from Cambridge.3
