Robert Taylor holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University, a Master of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Washington, a Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Additionally, he pursued General Education in Liberal Arts and Sciences at Truman State University.

His expertise lies in the areas of energy and heat transfer.

Within the academic sphere, Robert Taylor has held positions such as Sr. Lecturer (Assistant Professor) and Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales. He has also gained experience as a Student Researcher and Teaching Assistant at Arizona State University, as well as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Washington and the University of Missouri. Furthermore, he interned at the Solar Living Institute.
