Robert Sampson

Robert Sampson is the Executive Administrative Director at Arizona State University (ASU), a position he has held since January 2016. In this role, he oversees operations for the Quantum Energy and Sustainable Solar Technologies Engineering Research Center (QESST), which is focused on advancing photovoltaic science and technology. His responsibilities include managing facilities, human resources, planning, accounting, purchasing, and grant administration across multiple partnering universities, including international institutions.1

Sampson has a robust background in entrepreneurship and innovation. Before his current role, he served as a Venture Manager at ASU's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group from May 2014 to December 2015, where he assisted faculty and staff in commercializing research.12 He has also founded or led over ten companies throughout his career, showcasing his extensive experience in startup ventures and project management.1

In terms of education, Sampson holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Linfield College and has pursued advanced studies at ASU, earning a Master's of Science in Construction Management and a Professional Science Master's in Solar Energy Engineering and Commercialization.1
