GARM Activities
As the co-founder and initiative lead of GARM, Rakowitz aims to find "solutions" to improve what he calls "consumer safety" and online brand safety.2 GARM seeks to ensure that no one whom it deems as bad actors have access to advertiser funding.2
In May 2023, U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) subpoenaed records from Rakowitz regarding GARM's alleged efforts to eliminate disfavored content online.2 In August 2024, the World Federation of Advertisers announced that GARM would be discontinuing all activities due to recent allegations that misconstrue its purpose and activities.2
