Robert Pursley

Robert Pursley is the Managing Editor of the Medical Surveillance Monthly Report (MSMR) at General Dynamics Information Technology, a position he has held since October 2022. In this role, he oversees the production and editorial processes of the MSMR, which is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Division. The report focuses on health trends and issues affecting military personnel and their beneficiaries.12
Prior to joining the MSMR, Pursley served as the Program Coordinator for the Population Council's Reproductive Health division from 2009 to 2021. There, he managed multiple public health projects and contributed to technical research reports addressing critical health issues in low- and middle-income countries.1 He also has experience working at the University of Virginia School of Medicine’s Center for Health Humanities and Ethics. Pursley holds a Master’s degree in English from the University of Virginia.12
