Robert McMahan

Robert McMahan started his law enforcement career in 1988 with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy in the Detention Division. He transitioned to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in 1990, where he worked in Patrol and Investigations. Over the years, McMahan was promoted through the ranks, becoming a sergeant in 1995, a lieutenant in 1997, and eventually a captain in 2007. He has held various leadership roles within the organization, including commanding the Detention, Patrol, and Support Services divisions. McMahan's contributions led him to be selected to oversee Professional Standards by Sheriff Tony Spurlock. In this role, he manages accreditation processes, hiring, training units, and internal affairs for the DCSO.
