Robert Brozin

Robert Brozin, often referred to as Robbie, is a prominent South African entrepreneur best known as the co-founder of Nando's, a global restaurant chain specializing in Portuguese-style peri-peri chicken. He was born in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa, and completed his education at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

Nando's Journey

In 1987, Brozin, along with his friend Fernando Duarte, purchased a small Portuguese restaurant called Chickenland in Johannesburg. They transformed it into Nando's, which has since grown into an international brand with over 1,250 restaurants across 26 countries.137 Brozin served as the CEO of Nando's until 2010, during which time he was instrumental in developing the brand's unique corporate culture, emphasizing values such as pride, passion, courage, integrity, and family.23

Brozin's innovative marketing strategies and commitment to social responsibility have played a significant role in Nando's success. He has been involved in various philanthropic efforts, including the Goodbye Malaria initiative, which aims to eradicate malaria in Africa, and the Nando's Art Initiative, which promotes the work of disadvantaged Southern African artists.124
