Boomerang'ed back. Same job, just less MySQL and more Go. Fun/Interesting:
- Learned Golang by writing much of the tooling that configures workstations. Because it needed done.
- got a good bit of experience with Clickhouse.
- biggest impact: a pair of short (<100 lines) shell script which monitors patching and certificate expiration on most servers.

Senior before mid 2022

Fastly

Staff Data Reliability Engineer

Overhauled alerting which reduced paging from 150 per week to 15.
Wrote a bit of Python and lots of tests.

Sr. Database Engineer

Help to manage MySQL, queues (NSQ) and consumers of queues.

Rewrote MySQL configuration management including adding ProxySQL, Orchestrator and XtraBackup.

Data Reliability Engineering

First MySQL DBA, created a management framework that handles the entire MySQL lifecycle on AWS (much of which I ported to Redis).
