Rob Barnes

Rob Barnes is a seasoned leader in transformation within the consumer and retail sectors, with a strong background in driving change through digital and technology.

Currently holding the position of Chief Technology Officer for M&S Food, Rob oversees technology aspects for the M&S Food business and digital technology in more than 1,000 retail locations throughout the UK.

Under his direction, key initiatives have been successfully executed including the integration with Ocado, transformation of the Food supply chain, and various projects to adeptly handle the challenges posed by Covid-19.

Before his tenure at Marks and Spencer, Rob accumulated 16 years of valuable experience at Accenture, where he spearheaded major projects for prominent UK Retail and Consumer goods clients. He was also in charge of the UK 'New IT' practice across various industries like Consumer Goods, Retail, Life Sciences, and industrial/transportation sectors.

Rob's expertise lies in driving the technology modernization agenda, implementing new multi-speed delivery methods, integrating cutting-edge digital technologies, facilitating the transition to cloud computing, and optimizing IT costs.

His impressive portfolio includes leading transformational work at significant clients such as Dyson, Tesco, and M&S.
