Riya Dave

Riya Dave is a dedicated individual who is actively working towards bridging the gender gap in Computer Science and enjoys taking on challenges while having fun along the way.

Currently a Sophomore pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Riya has a strong educational foundation.

Riya has gained valuable work experience as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, having previously interned at the company in different roles such as SWE Intern and Explore Intern.

In addition to her roles at Microsoft, Riya has also interned as a Technology Analyst at JPMorgan Chase & Co., showcasing her versatility and adaptability.

With a passion for supporting and empowering women in engineering, Riya has held leadership positions such as the SWE Outreach Project Development Chair at the Society of Women Engineers at UIUC.

Riya's diverse background includes experiences outside the tech industry, having worked at Dunkin Donuts, served on the Teen Advisory Board at Aurora Public Library, and mentored as part of NIU's Enhancing Engineering Pathways program.

Furthermore, Riya has actively participated in programs such as Girls Who Code's Summer Immersion Program, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and growth.

Riya has also shared her knowledge and skills by tutoring at The Merry Tutor and engaging in entrepreneurial activities through the Young Entrepreneurs Academy.

Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Riya has a creative side, being a trained traditional dancer at Tarana Kathak Dance Academy.

With a well-rounded background encompassing technology, leadership, mentorship, community involvement, and creative arts, Riya Dave is a multi-talented individual poised for success in various spheres.
