Riley Jon Blackwell is the Executive Director at RIDE: Research Initiatives for Development Education, where he plays a pivotal role in leading the organization's development both domestically and internationally. With over seven years of experience in managing community development initiatives and field studies programs specifically in East Africa, he has cultivated a deep understanding of cultural exchange within the region. His fluency in Swahili enhances his ability to engage with local communities effectively, addressing their pressing challenges and fostering meaningful collaborations between visitors and these communities.1
He holds a Bachelor's degree in International Studies and Business Management from the University of Denver and a Master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). In addition to his professional commitments, Riley enjoys spending his leisure time camping and connecting with nature.1
Riley’s leadership at RIDE has been instrumental in expanding the organization’s impact, which originated from the Partners in Scholarship program and has evolved into significant international study opportunities since its inception.1
