Rick Shafer

Rick Shafer is a highly esteemed leader in student affairs, bringing over 20 years of experience from four different university campuses.

His areas of expertise include restorative justice, social justice, mediation, student conduct administration, sexual assault and harassment adjudication, as well as wellness, emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and leadership.

His vast knowledge in student affairs encompasses residence life, leadership development, fraternity and sorority life, student group advising, event planning, violence prevention, and conflict resolution.

Rick's educational background includes certifications in restorative conference facilitation, multicultural counseling, mediation, as well as a Master of Arts in Physical Education and Exercise Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts and Sciences, all from Michigan State University.

His professional journey includes roles such as Associate Director and Faculty at Michigan State University, Director of Student Judicial Services at Ferris State University, and various coordination positions at Indiana University Bloomington and Ball State University.
