Rick Macy

Rick Macy is a Senior Partner at Akademy Konsalt, a boutique management consulting firm based in St. Petersburg and Moscow, Russia. He has extensive experience in various business sectors, particularly in telecommunications and sales training. Macy's career began after serving six years in the U.S. Navy, transitioning into international sales within the U.S. defense manufacturing industry, where he achieved significant sales success.

In 1996, he moved to Russia and took on leadership roles in mobile telephony startups and established companies, including PeterStar and Comstar Telecommunications. Notably, in 2002, he was recognized as one of the top commercial managers in Russian telecoms by KPMG and the Russian Managers Association.

Macy founded a sales training company, Akademia, in 2003, and later served as COO and CEO of YPI Yellow Pages, where he successfully restructured the company and oversaw its merger with another entity. His consulting work has included projects for various companies, focusing on CRM, sales, customer service, and project management. He has also delivered training for well-known brands like Papa John's Pizza and has been involved in significant consulting projects that increased revenues substantially for his clients.

Macy holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of the State of New York, speaks conversational Russian, and has traveled to over 65 countries. He has served as the chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in St. Petersburg, highlighting his deep involvement in the business community in Russia.1
