Rick del Monte

Rick del Monte is a distinguished architect and former Managing Director and Chief Design Officer at The Beck Group, a large integrated design-build firm.24 He served for 22 years as the National Design Director at Beck, which is the largest integrated architecture and construction firm in the U.S.1

Del Monte's educational background includes:

• Master of Science in Architecture and Building Design from Columbia University (1984)
• Master of Architecture from Clemson University (1979)
• Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Ohio State University (1977)1

He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA) and holds certifications as a Design-Build Professional (DBIA) and LEED Accredited Professional.13 Del Monte has had a significant impact on the architectural industry:

• He led the design of four notable projects at Kohn Pedersen Fox, including 311 South Wacker in Chicago, which was the world's tallest concrete building at the time.1
• Projects he oversaw at Beck have won more than 17 local and regional AIA awards.1
• He was appointed Board Chairman of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) in 2020.4
• In 2018, he was elected chairman of the Business Council for the Arts board of directors.5

Currently, Rick del Monte is a Lecturer at the Clemson University School of Architecture.13 He has retired from Beck to start his own practice with R&B Architecture, where he serves as a Principal.13
