Richard Williams is a highly experienced digital leader with an impressive portfolio of creative and commercial achievements in various digital content and product delivery platforms. With an educational background in Science Communication from Imperial College London and an Honors degree in Physics from the University of Nottingham, his unique combination of scientific knowledge and creative thinking makes him an expert in leading digital change and business modernization in traditional media organizations.
As Managing Director for Digital at STV Group plc, Williams has been instrumental in leading large teams across multiple locations and delivering award-winning products and content for CTV, web, and mobile. He is a passionate champion for the end-user, bringing a successful conduit between analog and digital, creative and business, and strategy and implementation. Williams has held various leadership roles across high-profile media organizations like BBC, ITV, Yahoo, Virgin Media, and UKTV.
During his tenure as Head of Digital-First Content at Virgin Media, Williams was responsible for the overall management and delivery of digital content across the organization. As Director of Multiplatform Programs at ITV, he headed the development of ITV's online presence, including the creation of its video-on-demand service. He was also a significant contributor to the modernization of production at BBC Vision as Head of Multiplatform Production. Aside from his professional experience, Williams is also an alumnus of the International Executive Program at INSEAD Business School, France.
