Richard Watson

Richard Watson, an IT industry veteran, with nearly three decades of experience in architecture, team leading, enterprise advisory, and software development, is an expert in cloud computing adoption, product management, and analysis. Watson is a versatile, result-oriented professional who has advised extensive enterprise clients and led teams, delivering quality software in mission-critical environments. As the Product Line Manager at VMware, Watson works on Tanzu Kubernetes Grid, a modern application platform that streamlines deployment of containerized workloads with enterprise-level automation. Before joining VMware, Watson was the Head of Digital Strategy at Strata3, a Dublin-based digital change agency, where he partnered with Ireland's significant businesses to drive digital transformations. Watson lended his expertise to Gartner as an analyst, advising clients on their cloud computing adoption strategies for ten years. Moreover, he served as a VP of Architecture for Credit Suisse Investment Bank and fulfilled product management roles at Engine Yard and cloud platform. In his earlier career, Watson held a principal software engineer and software architect role at Cape Clear and IONA Technologies, respectively. Watson is an alumnus of Mount Temple Comprehensive and Trinity College, Dublin.
