Richard Tibbetts

Richard Tibbetts is a seasoned entrepreneur, skilled technologist, and innovative product manager. With expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and augmented analytics, he is currently leading the development of next-generation analytic products at Tableau Boston. Richard has a successful track record of building ventures from scratch, including StreamBase (acquired by TIBCO in 2013), SellerCrowd, and Empirical Systems (acquired by Tableau in 2018). As a player-coach, he has evangelized complex software products to large enterprises, with a strong focus on capital markets, insurance, retail banking, customer loyalty, advanced analytics, sensor networks, and the internet of things (IoT). Richard is especially interested in trends such as augmented intelligence, social business processes, and technology adoption in the enterprise. He studied computer science and electrical engineering, earning his bachelor's and master's degrees at MIT.
