Richard C. Swortzel, P.E., is the founder of New Eagle, a company specializing in embedded control systems and mechatronic solutions. He has been leading New Eagle since its inception in October 2008, focusing on developing technologies for various applications, including autonomous vehicles, electric and hybrid vehicles, alternative fuels, and military systems. His work emphasizes the Raptor Embedded Model-Based Development technology, which aims to optimize development time, costs, and intellectual property for clients.1
Swortzel has a robust background in engineering and business development. Before founding New Eagle, he held several positions, including Business Development at MotoTron, where he contributed to the development of the MotoHawk Rapid Control software. He also founded New Eagle Software, which was sold to MotoTron, and worked in various roles related to embedded controls and electronics design at Delphi and Applied Dynamics International.1
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Control System Engineering from the University of Dayton. Additionally, he is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio and a certified private aircraft pilot.1
