Richard Sim is the Senior Director of Product Management at Roblox, where he is currently focused on developing the Immersive Ads system from the ground up. He has a strong background in advertising technology, having previously worked at Facebook as a product leader from 2010 to 2017. During his tenure at Facebook, he played a key role in integrating ads into the News Feed and launching mobile ads, contributing to significant products like the conversion tracking pixel and mobile app install ads.
Sim has also held leadership positions at other notable companies, including Wish, where he was the Head of Product for Ads, and Anchor Intelligence, which was acquired by Comscore. His early career includes roles at Microsoft, where he worked on MSN Hotmail and other projects.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to his professional experience, Sim has several patents related to advertising technology, including fraud detection and user interaction prediction.1
