Richard D. Segal

Richard D. Segal is an American investor and philanthropist who currently serves as a Managing Partner at Gem Island Ventures.23 He has a long and distinguished career in investment and venture capital, with significant experience in both for-profit and non-profit sectors.

Segal is the founder and former CEO of Rethink Capital Partners.2 He also founded Seavest Investment Group in 1981, where he served as chairman and chief executive officer.1 Under his leadership, Seavest narrowed its focus to healthcare real estate in 2001 and launched a venture arm, Rethink VC, in 2012.1
