Flocabulary is a web-based learning program for all grades and subjects that uses educational hip-hop music to engage students and increase achievement. Teachers in more than 50,000 schools have used Flocabulary’s standards-based videos, instructional activities and formative assessments to develop core literacy skills and supplement instruction across the curriculum. 

Nearpod acquired Flocabulary April 8, 2019 to expand its student engagement platform. Dan Gohl, chief academic officer of Florida’s Broward County Public Schools, the sixth largest school district in the country, said that the combination of Nearpod and Flocabulary—which are both used by educators in Broward—“signals the creation of a new category of learning tools aligned with both the needs of the modern classroom and the aspirations of today’s learners.”

Through its crowdsourced, online quizzes, candidates can measure their skills across a range of subjects, from engineering to music, see how they stack up against their peers and earn badges to back up their CVs with some proof.
