Richard Reed

Richard John Reed, CBE, born on February 13, 1973, is a British businessman, entrepreneur, and public speaker.25 He is best known as the co-founder of Innocent Drinks and JamJar Investments.6

Background and Education::

• Reed was born in Kirkheaton, West Yorkshire, and grew up in Mirfield.2
• He attended Batley Grammar School.2
• From 1991 to 1994, Reed studied geography at St John's College, Cambridge.123

Career::

• DDB: From September 1994 to August 1998, Reed worked as an account director at DDB, handling accounts for VW, Sony, and Legoland.13
• Innocent Drinks: In February 1999, along with fellow Cambridge graduates Adam Balon and Jon Wright, Reed co-founded Innocent Drinks, a company that produces fresh fruit smoothies and vegetable pots.12 Reed served as Co-CEO and Brand Director for 14 years and 4 months, from February 1999 to May 2013.13 Over the years, the brand grew to become the biggest in Europe.2 In 2013, Coca-Cola purchased Innocent Drinks.2
• JamJar Investments: Reed is the co-founder of JamJar Investments, a venture capital fund that backs new consumer-facing businesses in Europe.12 He has been with JamJar Investments since May 2013.1 JamJar Investments was founded in 2012 by the founders of Innocent Drinks.2
