Richard McAlee

Richard McAlee is a highly experienced healthcare lawyer with a broad foundation in corporate and business law, contracts, and litigation. He has extensive experience as in-house counsel and in private practice and has a proven track record of leading legal initiatives, compliance, risk management, and transactions involving healthcare organizations and integrated delivery systems.

His specialties include advising providers on a full range of healthcare and business issues, overseeing and managing litigation, regulatory and reimbursement matters, internal investigations, and business transactions. He has also negotiated, structured, and coordinated transactions and agreements involving healthcare providers, ranging from hospital-physician contracts to hospital acquisitions and reorganizations. He has sought and obtained regulatory approvals, including certificate of need, licensure, accreditation, and insurance/reimbursement matters.

McAlee studied Juris Doctor (J.D.) at The George Washington University Law School and did Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), History and Political Science at University of Rochester. He has previously worked as Associate General Counsel at Inova Health System, Counsel at Inova Health System (Secondment via Major, Lindsey & Africa), Hospital Counsel at MedStar Health, Vice President and General Counsel at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, General Counsel at Southern Maryland Hospital Center, among other roles.
