Richard Jackson

Richard Jackson is the newly appointed Director of Sustainability at the University of Bath, set to join the institution on November 20, 2023.1 He brings 30 years of experience in climate change and sustainability fields.1 Prior to this role, Jackson served as the Director of Sustainability at University College London (UCL) for 11 years.24 His career also includes a notable position as Head of Environment at the Olympic Delivery Authority, where he led sustainability efforts for the Olympic Park's design and construction.12

At UCL, Jackson was instrumental in implementing the university's 2019 Sustainability Strategy and driving initiatives to reduce environmental impact.2 He is particularly proud of engaging over 100 teams across UCL to tackle sustainability issues in offices and labs.2

Jackson's expertise extends beyond academia. He has experience in various sectors related to environment and sustainability, including volunteering work.3 In his new role at the University of Bath, he will lead efforts to strengthen the institution's sustainability initiatives, aligning them with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.1
