Richard Garnett

Richard Garnett is a distinguished professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Constitutional Law, the First Amendment, and Law & Religion at the acclaimed Notre Dame Law School. Before teaching at Notre Dame, Garnett clerked for the United States Supreme Court, and practiced law as an associate at Miller, Cassidy, Larroca & Lewin. As a lawyer, Garnett's practice focused on Constitutional Law and Religious Liberty. He obtained his education from Yale Law School, Duke University, and the University of Oxford. Garnett's specialty is the intersection of law and religion, specifically Church & State and the Freedom of Speech.
