Ricardo Viana

Ricardo Viana is a highly educated professional with a diverse background in biochemistry, molecular biology, drug delivery research, and pharmaceutical sciences.

His academic journey includes a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Lisbon, along with studies in drug delivery research focusing on hepatitis B at The School of Pharmacy, University of London. Additionally, he holds a PharmD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Universidade de Coimbra.

Ricardo also explored Psychology during his academic pursuits, completing his 1st year of study in the subject at Universidade de Coimbra.

In terms of professional experience, Ricardo has held various leadership roles in the pharmaceutical industry. He currently serves as the Executive Director and Global Value and Access Disease Team Lead at Novartis Oncology, overseeing critical aspects of global market access.

Prior to his current position, he has contributed significantly to Novartis in roles such as Global Access Product Lead, Market Access Head for Norway, Worldwide Market Access Director for Multiple Sclerosis, Global Market Access & HEOR Director for Cardio-metabolic/Respiratory, Healthcare Systems MA Manager, Respiratory Product Manager, and Market Access Specialist.

Ricardo Viana has also gained valuable experience outside of Novartis, having worked as a Procurement Manager & Clinical Advisor at Ametic, a Technical Director at Sigmimune – Produtos Clínicos e Farmacêuticos, Lda., and a Pharmacist Consultant at Pharsolution - Pharmaceutical Consulting.
