Meet Riad Chenak, a seasoned RF engineer with over six years of direct experience in GSM, CDMA2000 1X, UMTS, and LTE. Riad is an expert in optimizing multiband cellular networks, features optimization, and planning. He has worked with top telecommunications companies such as Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei Technologies, and INWI. Throughout his career, Riad has performed various engineering tasks, including designing hard and soft parameters for new site clusters and identifying and solving issues from CSSR, CDR, HSR, SDBR, CBR, Prep Fail, congestion, and SDCCH drop.
Riad's experience also includes generating work orders for standard radio parameters, taking indoor measurements, and drive tests for reference and due to customers' complaints, and handling complaints via proper coordination with the customer accompanied by quick results. One of his strong suits is traffic balancing and tuning of other parameters for multiband cells as well as microcells tuning for corporate office’s quality service assurance. Furthermore, he is proficient in LAC/BSC boundary decisions in collaboration with BSS planning department to prevent illogical boundary creation becoming cause of increased LU’s and Ping-Pong. His skillset also extends to source identification of external uplink interference using spectrum analyzer and preparing and updating files indicating various activities in radio optimization.
Riad has years of experience in coverage, capacity, and frequency planning, troubleshooting, and optimization. Some of his specialty tools include TEMS Investigation, ACTIX, ATOLL 3.1, Asset, XAFP OPTIMI, Planet EV, MAPINFO, Cegale view, RNO (Radio Network Optimization Tool by ALCATEL), OMCR (ALCATEL OMC). He's also experienced in CDMA tools, including CBSS MAINEX, M2000, NASTAR, CBSSSTAR, RASYSTAR, Agilent, Panorama, and ACTIX.
