Renier de Wit is an accomplished actuary with over 12 years of experience within the financial services industry, particularly with the Sanlam Group, where he held key positions in mergers and acquisitions, product development, valuations, and financial reporting.

Renier's expertise extends to the emerging markets space, specifically focusing on Africa and India, where he spearheaded numerous mergers and acquisitions during his tenure at Sanlam Emerging Markets.

In 2017, Renier ventured into the realm of private equity and venture capital by establishing Gaia Private Equity, a subsidiary of the Gaia Group aimed at seizing investment opportunities in these sectors. Currently, he serves as the Managing Director of Gaia, overseeing its operations and strategic direction.

Renier's educational background includes a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Stellenbosch, as well as being a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, UK.
