Rebekah Monson

Rebekah Monson is the co-founder and COO of WhereBy.Us, a local media startup focused on connecting locals with their cities through storytelling and experiences via delightful morning newsletters in cities like Miami, Seattle, Orlando, Portland, and Pittsburgh.

Prior to her current role, Rebekah worked in various newsroom positions such as reporter, editor, and design director. She also managed communications at the University of Miami School of Communication while pursuing an M.F.A. in Interactive Media before founding WhereBy.Us.

Rebekah Monson is a co-founder of Code for Miami, a volunteer group dedicated to enhancing civic technology in Miami-Dade County, and Hacks/Hackers Miami, a local chapter of a global organization that focuses on revolutionizing media.

With educational backgrounds in Journalism, Mass Communication, Graphic Design at Louisiana State University, and an M.F.A. in Interactive Media from the University of Miami, Rebekah Monson has a solid foundation in media and communication.

Her professional experience includes roles such as Communications Manager, Teaching Assistant, Editor, and various design positions at organizations like the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Poynter Institute, The Spokesman-Review, and The Oregonian among others.
