Rebecca Shoesmith, also known as Beccy, is the Creative Economy Programme Manager for East Asia and the Middle East and North Africa at the British Council.
With her current focus on programs in Egypt, Vietnam, and China, Beccy spearheads initiatives targeting policy change, creative entrepreneurship, networking creative hubs, and connecting makers between China and the UK.
Beccy's passion lies in entrepreneurship, makers, and fostering the growth of creative businesses, seeking UK-developed tools for global dissemination among creative entrepreneurs.
She brings a wealth of experience from her tenure at the British Council since 2009, with a background spanning roles in Arts, Science, and Education departments.
Beccy holds a BSc (2:1) in Business Management from King's College London and has a robust network within the creative industry, particularly through her involvement with the Young Creative Entrepreneur program.
