Rebecca Potts

Rebecca Potts is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching art across different age groups, from preschool to adult learners. She is also the founder and host of the Teaching Artist Podcast. With a strong footing in arts and education administration, Rebecca has worked in various sectors including non-profit, environmental, arts, and education.

As a visual artist, Rebecca specializes in merging environmental science and ecology with the arts. Her design skills encompass a wide array of areas such as web design, graphics, jewelry design, printmaking, book arts, and photography. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Art from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography & Studio Art from Middlebury College. Rebecca has also undertaken studies in printmaking, wilderness studies, painting, photography, and Aboriginal Art History at the University of Tasmania.

Throughout her career, Rebecca has been affiliated with numerous organizations, including being a former Teaching Artist at P.S. ARTS, an Art Instructor at PAINT, and engaging in roles such as Arts in Education Manager at Brooklyn Arts Council, Education Director at Bronx River Art Center, and Teaching Assistant at California State Summer School for the Arts, among others. She also delved into web design, serving as a Web Designer/Editor & Technology Consultant. Rebecca's interests lie in arts education administration, the fusion of art and science with a focus on environmental science and climate change, and diverse art media like printmaking, painting, drawing, video, photography, and web design.
