Ravi Akkiraju

Ravi Akkiraju is a Technical Manager and Integration & Systems Architect with twenty-five years of experience in Information Technology, specializing in the healthcare industry with expertise in Epic Bridges, Intersystems Ensemble, JCAPS/eGate/ICAN, GIS, Webmethods, Corepoint interface engines, and Enterprise Services Bus (ESB).

He possesses a background in Operations Research, Optimization, and Heuristic development, along with a core understanding of Networks, TCP/IP protocol, firewalls, and network segments/zones crucial for Integration. Ravi effectively manages multiple technical teams including the Clinical Interface/Integration team, EMR System Administration, Change Management, Release Management, Quality Assurance, and TeleHealth web services.

Ravi Akkiraju holds several certifications including AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, HealthShare Health Connect HL7 Interface Specialist, Epic Bridges, Sun Certified JCAPS Integrator, Seebeyond Certified Professional Developer in eGate, Certified Supply Chain Professional (APICS CSCP), Sun Certified Programmer for Java, and Microsoft Certified Professional.

Throughout his career, Ravi has led successful projects such as CareEverywhere and HIE implementation with SSA, VA, and State of Florida, HISP setup with Surescripts, and TeleHealth implementation at UHealth.

He pursued his Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science at Florida International University and holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and a specialization in Industrial and Systems Engineering (Operations Research) from Virginia Tech.

Ravi Akkiraju currently serves as the IT Executive Director at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. Previously, he held roles as a Consultant at Ryder System Inc and Keene, Systems Engineer at Customized Transportation Inc, and Analyst at Nortel Networks.
