Raul Hernandez

Raul Hernandez is a skilled Program and People Lead with a focus on advancing talent performance, partnerships, and programs. With over a decade of experience, he has spearheaded Alumni and Corps Member initiatives for Teach For America Los Angeles, a prominent region within TFA. Raul's role involves aiding more than 3,400 leaders in Southern California across various sectors by establishing program partnerships, facilitating leadership growth, talent matching, and ensuring sustained engagement. His background as a Science & Spanish teacher in Boston and Baltimore has equipped him with the ability to create and deliver compelling learning experiences tailored to diverse audiences. Through his talent for forging strategic connections among individuals, programs, and resources, Raul enhances team and institutional capacities to achieve maximum impact.

Raul's educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Science-Education from the University of Notre Dame and a MAT in Secondary Education and Teaching from The Johns Hopkins University.

His professional journey comprises roles such as Vice President, People, and Human Resources Business Partner at Bryson Gillette, as well as several leadership positions at Teach For America including Managing Director for Alumni Strategy & Engagement, Impact in Schools, and Alumni Leadership. Raul has also served as a Biology Teacher at Boston Public Schools, a High School Spanish Teacher at Baltimore City Public Schools, and as a Corps Member at Teach For America.
